For the Classroom - Introduction

Puring Milk into a Glass Food, eating and nutrition deserve to be topics of discussion in all classrooms - from grade school to graduate school.

MyGermanFoods.org has enlisted volunteers to write and design classroom materials dealing with specific food topics or food items as well as language. These materials -- including essays, vocabulary lists in English and German, Grammar exercises and more -- are designed to make it easy for teachers in elementary, middle and high schools to integrate these topics into their curriculum.

Our first series is all about milk and related products, such as casein, kefir, yogurt, cheese and more. Among other things students can learn about
- which animals are used around the globe to provide milk for human consumption,
- how to milk a cow,
- what happens in dairy factories,
- how cheese is made and what makes the difference in taste and texture,
- basic economics of farming,
- how milk is beneficial to your health and well being
- and much more

Each of our articles is rated for difficulty with one, two, three or four stars.

For future course materials we will need your help!!

If you're interested in writing class materials on other food-related topics in English and/or German, or you plan to make that a class project, please contact us at info@germanfoods.org. Every contributing author will be acknowledged in the Authors & Contributors section of this website.
