Kirschenmichel

Ingredients:

8 stale bread rolls
2 cups milk
5 ounces butter
4 eggs
8 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons Kirschwasser
1 tablespoon cinnamon
4 ounces almond slivers
4 ounces semolina
1 package baking powder
2 lbs pitted cherries

Preparation:

Soften the bread in the milk. Whisk together the butter, eggs and sugar and add the cocoa, Kirschwasser, cinnamon, almonds, semolina and baking powder.

Mix the soaked bread with the cherries and blend with the other ingredients. Pour the batter into a greased baking tin and bake in the middle of the oven (350 to 400 degrees F) for 15 to 30 minutes.
